SUMMARY:Pilgrim Places\, Holy Lives
DESCRIPTION:Pilgrim Places\, Holy Lives invites our church into a season of shared journey and discovery from May 25 through June 28. Beginning the day after Pentecost\, we will explore eight places that shaped the spread of Christianity in England\, alongside the stories of the saints who lived and witnessed there. Every parishioner who attends Pentecost Sunday will receive the companion booklet for use in their own spiritual journey throughout the week. Each day offers a simple rhythm of devotion: a Scripture reading\, a prayer\, a brief reflection\, and a suggested action or question for deeper contemplation. For those looking to explore in a group setting – there will be an opportunity each week to reflect on what was read. On Sundays—starting with Trinity Sunday\, May 31—our adult education hour will bring these stories to life as members of the clergy guide us through the week’s places and holy lives\, offering insight\, context\, and space for conversation. \nAs we celebrate the new Archbishop of Canterbury\, who has recently made her own pilgrimage to the heart of Anglican Christianity\, we\, too\, are invited to journey—across landscapes of history and faith\, and within our own lives—seeking the presence of God who meets us in every place. \nSundays\nMay 31\, June 7\, 14\, 21 & 28\n9:15 AM — 10:15 AM\nSaguaro Room

SUMMARY:Forgiveness: Centering or a Cudgel?
DESCRIPTION:In this three-part series\, we’ll use The Book of Forgiveness by Desmond and Mpho Tutu as our shared guide. We’ll explore forgiveness as a practice that steadies us amid conflict\, injury\, hatred\, and fear—and as a pathway to inner peace\, wellbeing\, and spaciousness of heart. We’ll also name how “forgiveness” can be misused as a spiritual shortcut\, a demand for silence\, or a way to bypass accountability. Expect thoughtful conversation and practical reflection on the relationship between forgiveness\, truth-telling\, repair\, compassion\, and justice—so forgiveness becomes a source of strength and freedom\, not a weapon. \nThe Very Rev. Robert V. Taylor’s spirituality was forged in the struggle against apartheid. In 1980\, Archbishop Desmond Tutu sent him to the United States to avoid imprisonment. In 2000\, Tutu traveled to Seattle to participate in the installation of the Robert as Dean of Saint Mark’s Cathedral – the first openly gay dean of an Anglican cathedral. He continues to teach and write at the intersection of spiritual practices\, healing\, justice and wellbeing. \nWe will be using the following book for this class: The Book of Forgiving: The Fourfold Path for Healing Ourselves and Our World\, By Archbishop Desmond Tutu & Mpho Tutu. \nIt is available for purchase online https://tinyurl.com/54b625zv  \nLed By: Led by Rev. Robert Taylor
